The Stewards will be working soon to repair the damaged crossing into Red Wing Farm. If you are interested in the documentation you can read it at the link below,
Click here for Document in Word Format Note: We have pulled this project as it requires more resources than we have. The Town will likely take this over as this is the only entrance to the property from the parking lot. They have the resources and the money to build a better stucture than we could.

Sony has updated their GPS-CS1 with the new GPS-CS1KSP model that comes in essentially the same form factor with just a little more sexy added to the device's housing. The original model was meant to perform as a geo-tagging unit allowing you to track your meanderings and link them back to photographic footage. The new model adds the bonus of Google Maps functionality, a feature that might have been huge for the Japanese device if it wasn't for the fact that Yahoo still rules the search market in Japan. The device is set to go on sale for 15,540 yen ($144) on March 14th.

Well today we did our checks of the sites in town. As a treat three of us did a complete snowshoe walk through Thanksgiving forest. We have a few great photos of beaver tracks and fun shots of the forest. The last few are of The Bog as we checked to see if the Snowmobile traffic is still gone from the site. Hart pond and other places in town had snow mobiles all over them today but the Bog was quiet and looked amazing. The only tracks where those of people on foot and animals. We also fond no trash or signs of fire pits or anything even close.

A beautiful day at the Cranberry Bog. Today for the first time in years the bog is now snow mobile free allowing us to walk out on to the pond and shoot pictures of the Bog from an angle that you never see. The snow was untouched by snowmobiles, ATVS and dirt bikes for as far as the eye can see. The temporary closing of the access road seems to have made a huge difference. If you do see any motorized vehicle thing out on the pond call CPD at once. If you see them snap a photo and send that to CPD.
What is in place now seems to be working! Click here for Photos from the Pond No More SnowmoiblesPosted by: pstanway on Thursday, February 21, 2008 - 12:29 AM

After four plus years a resolution from the Snowmobiles at the Bog is at hand. The main access to the Bog off Natalie rd has been closed by a resident who has been subjected to snowmobiles crossing their property for years. A temporary closing is now in place and solid closing will be installed in the spring. It’s great to see the residents stepping up to stop this blight on our open spaces.
Hopefully we will not see this kind of damage ever again. Winter Walk? yup Snow Shoe Maybe. Looks like we will do both. Conditions are not the best for either but it will give you a chance to see the whole property and understand the trail systems. We WILL be going into the 200+ year old pits and they are fun .
Trails are 1.5 mile and 1.08 mile . Hope to see you all there! -Phil About The Quarry: Lime Quarry Reservation The Lime Quarry Reservation was acquired in 1967 as a 26-acre parcel and expanded in 1976 with the addition of 40 additional acres. Both purchases were made possible with Commonwealth of Massachusetts Self-Help funding the 64-acre parcel lies between Littleton Road (Route 110) and 1-495. This site is the former location of lime quarries and kilns dating back as far as 1736. The quarries operated until 1830 and were a major source of lime for plaster for homes in Chelmsford and Lowell. The trail, which begins at the Littleton Road parking lot. Work is ongoing to maintain and upgrade the trails, bridges, signs, and boundary markers of the Reservation and it is intended that the old quarry areas and kilns will be made a central focus of the property. The area, due to its unique geology, supports a number of locally uncommon plants, which are only found in areas of high PH, as exist in limestone. CHELMSFORD -- They move quietly among their neighbors.
But their actions leave a lasting impact. "In their own individual ways, they improve the quality of life in Chelmsford," says Tom Christiano. Whether it's lobbying for more state aid for town schools or preserving a piece of Chelmsford's past, Christiano, host of the Chelmsford talk show Politically Incorrect, honored eight people last night as citizens of the year for 2007. Among the award recipients, four are active volunteers in town schools. School Committee members Angelo Taranto and Kathy Duffett were honored for their efforts in fighting for more money for Chelmsford public schools. Taranto and Duffett took frequent bus trips to Beacon Hill, where they knocked on doors and put letters in the hands of legislators that ultimately helped boost Chelmsford's state school aid by almost $1 million. Another nod was given to the "power team" of Laura McLaughlin and Donna Newcomb, both active members of the Chelmsford Initiative for Local Note: From the Lowell Sun
