Ahh yes the wonderful residents who drive to the open space parking lots and toss bags of leafs over the fences are back. Why pick up all of them from your yard drive to a conservation area and toss them there? What will happen if you are seen? Simple a nice big fine from the conservation officer start at $100 and maybe even $100 per bag. Will they be enforced? You bet they will even if I have to go to every town meeting and committee meeting for the next 6 months. We are on the look out and if you see anything buzz me 978-273-1474. Record the plate or just snap a digital photo and we will take it from there.

Located in Chelmsford's Thanksgiving Forest. Easy hike on well maintained trails. Round trip is about a half mile.
This cache was placed in honor of Chelmsford's Wolf Den 12, which is part of Pack 107. On Nov. 2, 2008 Wolf Den 12 will be learning to geocache here at Thanksgiving Forest. This is one of several caches that the den will be hunting during this event. The container is a camouflaged cylindrical lock-n-lock. It is located just a few feet from a secondary trail. Please stay on the trails as you seek this cache. There is no need to bushwhack at all. Also, please replace the container exactly as you found it.. 2nd Annual Walk (and Talk) Turkey the Day Before Thanksgiving
The Chelmsford Open Space Stewardship Program and local television host Tom Christiano will once again revive an old Chelmsford tradition of gathering at the rocks at Thanksgiving Forest at Thanksgiving time. The original tradition had the men of Chelmsford gathering at the rocks Thanksgiving Day for a fox hunt. Since many families are busy Thanksgiving Day and fox hunting is no longer a part of Chelmsford life, this special one mile holiday walk through the forest will take place on Wednesday afternoon, November 26, at 2:00 p.m. from the Janet Road entrance to the forest, and at 2:30 p.m. from the Gary Road entrance to the forest (shorter hike). Refreshments will be provided by Jones Farm alongside a campfire at the rock outcropping. Guest speaker Becky Warren will "talk turkey" about Thanksgiving Forest, Chelmsford's past and some of the town's little known traditions. Get into the Thanksgiving spirit Wednesday afternoon and enjoy a brisk walk and some town lore in preparation for the next day. More than 200 people enjoyed this event last year! There is no cost for this event. COSS on the web!Posted by: pstanway on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 - 11:19 AM

1) All Stewards are asked to decorate a tree on their site for the day after Thanksgiving.
2) The decorations can not be glass or something that would kill wildlife. 3) We will start excepting photos on the web site that people send in stood next to each tree. 4) Those who find all of them will be recognized in the Open Space Hall of fame. 5) The Tree must be within 6-10 feet of a Blue or Green Trail. Scout Troop are welcome to help on this. Note From Ben SperryPosted by: pstanway on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 11:39 AM
