Ok we got hammered! I have maybe 8-10 large branches down in my yard that I could see. I think Sat will be a "Cut out" day in this order.

1) Stewards homes
2) Parking lots
3) Widow Makers
4) Major Trails
5) Minor Trails

Trees are still dropping so everyone should stay out of the wood until later this afternoon.

We did some shoping today for the Open Space. Our budget was $0 and we picked up two stone bases for flower gardens. Anyone got any ideas where we can put them?

From this weeks Chelmsford independent

Plants
Chelmsford -

After spending $1.5 million this summer to purchase the aging 22-acre Lewis Farm, Chelmsford is faced with an interesting question: Now what?

Town officials are eager to see their first Community Preservation Fund purchase put to good use and they have plenty of big ideas. Citizens have proposed using the land for everything from parks and community gardens to festivals and rail trail rest stops, but no firm plans exist yet.
"We want input from the public," said Selectman Clare Jeannotte. "It would be great to get some publicity on this."

This Sunday at noon interested citizens are invited to walk the land and offer suggestions on its future. The odd combination of fields, orchards, rocky soil, muddy areas and leased-out farmland present a confusing set of restrictions and opportunities.

Money
Times are hard and no one has any money but a few in town have dug deep to help us out.

Thanks to Chelmsford Rotary For $300 and Chelmsford Printing for $50. Please thank them.

We also have a brand new Picnic table for Red Wing and 30 gallons of paint for the fence painting at Lewis in the spring.

Thanks again to everyone and if you have any gas powered tools or rakes please call me and we will be right over to pick them up.

Lewis Open House Next 2 Sundays at 12 noon

Posted by: pstanway on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 - 01:03 PM 443 Reads
Construction
The town has opened the Lewis property development ideas from everyone in town. As CPC fund where used to buy it it must be outdoor rec use. We have come up with a plan and it can be found here now this is just an idea and we know we can do this for very little money and maybe 800+ hours of donated time.

I will be at Lewis for the next two Sundays at 12 and will show anyone and everyone who shows up the property and and answer those questions I can. I am far from an expert but I will do my best.

Come on out and see the property and then think about what you would like to see there or how the current plan can be improved.

AGAIN THIS PLAN IS NOT A FINAL PLAN BUT A STARTING POINT. NOTHING HAS BEEN DECIDED

Hope to see some of you and please pass the word

Want to help? This is a “Clean” work party as we are spreading wood chips at the Bartlett Wood lot. We are short handed this weekend so we can use all the hands we can get so if you ever want to help this is the time. This is an all ages event. We will meet at the Bartlet park (the big field behind the library at 9am) if you come late call me on my Cell 978-273-1474 and we will send someone to find you. This does count as community service if you are a student who want to clock in a few extra hours.
