Sorry I have been just swamped and have fallen behind… so lets try an catch up.
1) The Drawing for the award was held at the Last ConCom meeting (all 10 names went into a hat) the winner was Team Town Hall (no it was not rigged). We now have signed nice certificates ready for all 10 teams. These are signed by Town Manager, Head of the Board of Selectmen and Head of Conservation Commission. (We had our own scavenger hunt tracking these people down). The awards can be picked up at the Town Managers office or e-mail your team and an address and I will have it sent out. 2) We will have a calendar going on line this week that lists all the work parties, events and what we are up to. Ben Carpenter will be running this part of the site and it will be updated daily. So check the site and you will see where we are that day. Nine teams have completed the 10 tree scavenger hunt. If you have done so and not sent me pictures please send them by Monday at 9am. The full list we will be posted Monday at noon.
All winning teams need to: 1) Send me a full list of your members (not everyone need be in every picture). 2) Send me a quick blurb on your adventure. 3) An address to send the certificate too. 4) At the next Conservation Meeting All the names of the winning teams will be tossed in a hat and one name will be drawn for the trophy. We hope everyone had the same fun we had putting this on. No town funds were used for any part of this (and the $5 trophy reflects that. New year starts with a wonderful random act of kindness. So its new years day and I race home to dig out my driveway and to my total surprise its totally clear. I have no idea who or why but what better way to set the tone for 09. People say the world is going to hell but this make me see the work has good people left in it that want to help others not for recognition or profit but just because.
Whoever you are thanks! I am now going to open up the parking lots and snowshoe trails. See the new pups at Jones FarmsPosted by: pstanway on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 - 02:26 PM

Jones Farm can clean them up! Call Jones Farm to schedule a time for us to come and get the debris out of the yard! We can either haul it away or cut it up for firewood. Call 978-256-8065 for an estimate.
Phil Jones and Jones Farm have been huge supporters of the program along with many other programs in town . Please consider then if you need a yard cleanup Clean up CrewsPosted by: pstanway on Monday, December 15, 2008 - 11:35 AM

Trails cleared....
Considering the condition of the surrounding neighborhood, we were surprised that the Crooked Springs trails held up so well. The parking lot is completely open. We walked all the trails Saturday morning and cleared all the branches. There were a few trees blocking the trail but the chain saw took care of them. In other places, we had to pull branches out of the way and clip a few smaller ones that crossed the trails. All trails are now passable with no obstructions. There are still some small twigs and branches laying in the trail stuck in the ice. We removed any that posed a hazard to walkers or cross country skiers (in case it snows before we can clear the trail completely). Enjoy the trails and have a great holiday!
