Well a bunch of us where on Red Wing Yesterday and started the clean up. What a mess. Looks like we will be back next week (Sunday as I have to burn the 10,000 braches fromthe ice storm in my own yard). We will need brush haulers, people who know how to use hand saws and those who have are good with Chain saws (Bring your own).
Thisis a great time as the ticks are not out and the groth is not out so we can move about the property easly. If you have any groups who want to do clean ups PLEASE e-mail me as we have a ton to do. Red Wing Kiosk completePosted by: pstanway on Sunday, August 31, 2008 - 08:58 PM

Fire Site at Thanksgiving now clearPosted by: pstanway on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 - 12:13 AM

Thanks to Ben and his Dad from Scout troop 75 we had the site fully cleared within 24 hours. Not only did Ben and his dad help clean but they where the ones who called in the fire and help guide the Fire Department to the site. When they spotted the fire it was only about 40 feet across but within 15 minutes it covered close to an acre. It was quick thinking and cool heads of both of these residents that helped make this just an incident and not a major issue. Both Carlisle and Chelmsford FD responded amazing quickly. Our thanks go out to all who where involved.

Problem on Moccasin lane
A large group of kids where on Crooked Springs Conservation land last night from 10-12 pm drinking and annoying the neighbors. About a case of empties where tossed around and on the hill the kids use for sledding. Also they where using the area as a public bathroom. This should be nipped in the bud as residents will be calling CPD at the first sign of this from now on. HUGE overhaul of GalleryPosted by: pstanway on Sunday, December 09, 2007 - 02:54 PM

Seems the Russell Mill Project is now moving ahead at break neck speed. We have two stewards in place with expertise in tree management, trail construction and maintenance, ATV control. We will be looking at the whole property and the parking lots and should have a plan in a few weeks. Look for a major cleanup day in the first part of October and we will need everyone we can get (Stewards, Scouts, Students and anyone else we can find).

Thanksgiving Forest workPosted by: pstanway on Sunday, July 15, 2007 - 03:56 PM

Paul and I where at Thanksgiving Forest this morning and I am glad to say both fire pits we removed are still out of action. Several of the horse riders asked to clear some of the limbs from the stream. It seems the Folks from Great Brook Cut up some of the trees that fell but they left large limbs in the stream. The horse riders have to weave in and out to cross the stream and consider it unsafe. Paul and I also noticed a tree down across the gas line between the stream and the first marked entrance to Chelmsford. Removing all of these is out next work party Sunday Aug 5th 8am. We will also install the new boardwalk on the upper crossing. Want to join us? Just buzz me at 978-273-1474 Because we will be using chainsaws and haling large wood no kids at this work party.

Well it seems that Scott, Amy, Jim,Kirk and Bob along with others are in a flat out race to complete a 100 ft walkway before Saturdays walk at BB Wright. If anyone has any free time e-mail Scott and see if you can help. If we keep up this pace we will have all our 2007 projects wrapped up before summer gets underway! Look for pictures here starting later today!
